CJ'S PIZZA is changing! We are not actively making pizzas, and we are revamping the offerings, including CJ's take and bake pizzas. We will be making updates to this website and Facebook soon. This notice published July 1, 2021.

As Italian as pizza is, here in the U.S. we have tweaked and twisted the very definition of pizza down to its fine details. As long as there is dough, sauce and some sort of cheese it can officially be called a pizza in our books. Everything from fruit pizzas with cream cheese as the ‘sauce’ all the way down to straight up a whole food entirely. Frito pie pizza? No problem. We don’t judge! At CJ’s we’re introducing our newest pizza oddity, The Jalapeno Popper Pizza covered in our homemade garlic ranch sauce, jalapenos, bacon, and cream cheese and The Enchilada Pizza slathered in enchilada sauce, beef or chicken, onions, tomato, and cheddar. YUM! Do you have a favorite combination that makes other people turn their nose? Are you a pineapple on pizza kind of person? In honor of our newest pie-traptions, we have assembled an awesome list of some of the weirdest toppings we could find that are actually sold here in the U.S.!

In Los Angeles, CA there’s a teeny little pizza shop that had the brave idea to top one of their spicy red curry pizzas with… BANANAS. Using red curry as a pizza topping is daring enough as it could almost be mistaken as a simple marinara sauce but add bananas in the mix and you have something akin to a Hawaiian pizza with just a bit more bite.

If you ever find yourself on the East Coast you will most likely find seafood on just about everything. Crab, Clams, Mussels, Shrimp, Tuna, Anchovies, and even Sardines but what about an entire Lobster? You read that right. In Manhattan, NY you can find a pizza with a whole lobster placed right on top including the head. How you go about eating this monster, I haven’t the faintest clue, but it’s definitely raises an eyebrow.

Frito Pie has to be one of the most classic, feel-good foods. Warm chili, crunchy Fritos and the ooey gooey cheese that fits so perfectly into the pizza family we’re almost surprised this salt-sation isn’t more common. Milwaukee, WI is home to the Frito Chili-inspired pie. They make their own beef chili in house, spread that over the pie, top it with onions, cheddar cheese, sour cream, and then crunchy Fritos. It’s all the greatness of Frito pie with a crust that just makes it all the easier to eat.

Another household staple that was just made for the pizza stage is the peanut butter pizza. These nutty combinations can be sweet OR savory. Your dessert options could range from the Chocolate Peanut Butter Pizza on a traditional fluffy crust, to a peanut butter flavored crust covered in fruit and marshmallows to give you serious PB&J vibes. Not a sweets person? A shop in Manchester, CT used their owners’ mothers signature peanut butter sandwich to inspire this peanut butter and bacon pie. The pie is spread with Skippy’s creamy peanut butter (other brands apparently didn’t melt correctly onto the dough) then is topped with provolone instead of mozzarella, and then bacon. Yum Yum and YUM.

In our small Castle Rock, WA hometown we too love to meddle with mozzarella. Nothing is better than seeing that fun and ferocious things we can do with our pies. Here are a few new pies that are gaining popularity – we have our Crunchy Taco and Hometowner with bacon combination pizza that is topped with Beef, Lettuce, Cheddar Cheese, Tomato, Doritos on one side, and Canadian Bacon and Tomato on the other. Our Chicken Caesar Ranch is topped with Caesar dressing, chicken, onion, bacon, lettuce, tomato, and Parmesan while our Overload pizza is best described as “Everything but the kitchen sink”. Vegetables and Meats Galore! There are literally too many toppings to name them all!
